Having posted my New York Photodiary earlier this week I thought I’d share with you my New York Bucketlist for people who have never been to New York. If you’re only there for a short amount of time it can be a bit overwhelming with all the tourist hotspots and landmarks that you want to see. I’ve tried to break my list down into sections for you so let me know if you have found it useful at all!

NYC Landmarks

Brooklyn Bridge – Cycle across or even just stand on one side to take pictures, either way, you cannot miss out on this

Chrysler Building – Make sure you go inside, it’s stunning! Can also get to Grand Central Station subway through here

Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock Observatory – People have asked me is it worth it to do both and I would say do one in the day and one at night to see everything lit up!

Grand Central Station

Flatiron Building – More impressive from the outside and an office building inside so don’t bother trying to get in

Times Square – make sure you go in the day time and also the evening as it’s a really different atmosphere

Want to read more about what to do with a day in NYC? I wrote a post about how much you can walk if you have a day to explore in the city! How I walked most of NYC in a day

Stay a while

Central Park – Can easily get lost and spend the whole day in here people watching or walking around

Greenwich Village – See above!

Rockefeller Centre

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island – There are so many ferry trips which take you around the different islands, take some time and learn about the history, you won’t regret it!

The MET – If you’re a GG fan, sit on the steps of the MET with a frozen yoghurt 😉

9/11 Memorial Museum

Strawberry Fields (Inside central park)

The High Line

Coney Island (Another day trip as you can spend so long here!)

The Guggenheim

Shopping hotspots

Woodbury Common (take a whole day if you can, there are so many shops and so many crazy discounts if you love a label)

Chelsea Market (great place for food and shopping so can go there for a lunch and leave perfectly happy)

Fifth Avenue (pricey but it has to be done)

If you’re looking for some more pictures from what I got up to in NYC then have a look at my photo diary post here.

Something that I loved about New York was going to all these amazing places that were free. I’d recommend that you do some research and you’ll be surprised at the places that you don’t need to spend a fortune on to experience. There is also a New York Pass which I have linked for you as a lot of these bucket list items are on there. The pass gets you discounted entry etc so check that out if you’re thinking of hitting a lot of these places up! What did you think of my New York Bucket List? Is there anything that I have missed off the list?
